training approach

The Filipino Martial Arts have a long and documented history of combat effectiveness. Training differs from other Martial Art disciplines as, rather than beginning with empty-hands only, students are typically taught to utilize weapons at the onset.

The Filipino Martial Arts also uniquely ingrains an interrelationship between weapon and empty-hand skills and because of this training philosophy, is widely recognized in the martial arts community for its extreme practicality and effectiveness in self defense or combat situations. While providing a student with solid defense abilities in a relatively short period of time, it is also a complex art that can offer a lifetime of challenge and personal growth to the serious practitioner.

From Teaching we Learn

The strength of the Inayan School of Eskrima comes directly from the diversity within our Senior Student and Instructor ranks. In our modern cash-and-carry society these individuals have gone against the grain and dedicated themselves unselfishly to a cause and purpose. Each has shown a commitment to the Art and each other, as well as Tagaturo Klement and the vision he has for the Inayan School of Eskrima. Each Inayan Guro has a minimum of twelve years training directly under the guidance of Tagaturo Steve Klement and brings their own personal insight and style to the training floor.

It is our collective goal to provide a safe and informative training environment to our students and guests while also passing on the warrior spirit and ethical principles of the entire system of Inayan Eskrima.
