The Inayan School of Eskrima

At the Inayan School of Eskrima (ISE) you will find a passionate group of men and women learning and sharing this beautiful Martial Art that originated in the Philippines. The art has a very long history of combat effectiveness and ingrains an interrelationship between weapon and empty-hand skills. Because of this training philosophy, it is widely recognized in the martial arts community for its extreme practicality and effectiveness in self defense or combat situations. While providing a student with solid defense abilities in a relatively short period of time, it is also a complex art that can offer a lifetime of challenge and personal growth to the serious practitioner.

The ISE has a rich history and is proud to be the longest running Inayan Eskrima institution in the world.

Training at the ISE is conducted by Tagaturo Steven Klement; one of the foremost authorities on the art of Inayan Eskrima. He was taught and ranked directly by the late Suro Mike Inay; the founder of Inayan Eskrima. Lahong Guro James Earles, Guro Brad Hill and Katalungan Guro Bill Taylor assist in teaching the students of the ISE.

We are located in Knoxville, TN. and welcome all men, women, and young adults (12 or older) with a sincere interest in bettering themselves through the Martial Arts to join our Eskrima program. Classes are operated in a semiformal manner giving room for respect and safety as well as rapid mental and physical development.
