Title: Chief Firearms Advisor

In 2009 when Tagaturo Klement was still conceptualizing the idea of putting in place a Firearms curriculum for the Inayan School of Eskrima, he met Mr. Rob Stewart. After several years of discussions and training, the curriculum was adopted and implemented into the teachings at the ISE. This was a direct result of Rob Stewart’s teachings that he shares to individuals and select groups through his organization, Gunnar Tactical.

Rob comes from a career Army family. He grew up in Colorado where he and his retired First Sergeant father enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.  Rob entered the US Army in 1982 and, after graduating from the US Army Special Forces Qualification Course, was assigned to 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) as a Communications Sergeant. Eventually Rob applied for and was accepted into the Special Forces Warrant Officer program. After being promoted to Warrant Officer he was assigned to 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) as an “A” Detachment Technician.  Rob served thirteen years in the United States Army Special Forces where he participated in numerous dangerous and politically sensitive operations in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia. Rob is a Service Connected Disabled Veteran.

Since leaving the Army, Rob has worked as Deputy Sheriff in Arapahoe County Colorado, a Special Response Unit Officer, an Executive Protection Specialist, Tactical Firearms Trainer, and Defensive Tactics Instructor.

As a bodyguard Rob has participated and led many Close Personal Protection details for a diverse clientele that ranges from movie production companies, actors and musicians to business executives and royalty.

As a Instructor Rob has trained thousands of private citizens in the Tactical use of Firearms, Defensive Tactics, and the Use of Force and has also trained numerous Police Departments and SWAT teams across the country in baton, edged weapons, firearms, scenario-driven force-on-force training, and other specialized courses.

Rob speaks several languages including Spanish, French, and German.

Rob brings many years of Military, Public, and Private Sector service to the School and besides being our Chief Firearms Advisor, is also a 5th Level Student in Inayan Eskrima. Below is a list of Rob’s education.
